When I got burned out I realized that not every da

When I got burned out I realized that not every day was suited for blistering fast hardcore punk. As my brain required recovery there was music better equipped for that. Enter Misha Panfilov. I found him through my dear friend @annadrvnik and the serenity I feel from listening to his music is indescribable.

Getting to see him and his septet live was a real treat, several times I found myself completely entranced by the music.

Most of these are shot with a vintage, analog lens (Chinon 55 mm f/1.7) which has a very glowy, soft but sharp look. Focusing manually felt like it only added to the experience of the music. Can you spot which photo among these isn't shot with that lens?

My first physical record with my photos on the cover. There are a number of digital only releases with my photos on the cover, and I have a bunch of physical records that have my photos on the inside or back, but this is the first physical front cover with my photo. Not only that, my photos are also on the back, insert and made the silhouettes the labels. So cool! 😍

It feels really special to hold this in my hand, a milestone for me. And even better because the album is so good! I was floored the first time I got to hear it, it's a mix of genres that sound incompatible on paper but mesh beautifully in reality. Thank you for trusting me with making these photos, @blackviiolet, it means a lot!

One of the highlights of last year was definitely seeing @qsnyc again. I've always liked them, their first two albums are justified classics, but their latest two are absolute favourites of mine. And they finished their set with Phase 90, a song I wouldn't dare hope for. Definitely larger-than-life feeling.

Yesterday I had an incredible conversation with @yepicurus, who is an "Existential Consultant" - how cool is that? He quickly helped guide me back to what is important to me and why I should do what I do. With his help I realized that I need to do more concert photography - for my own sake and for me alone. It is something that's been on my mind before, but this conversation solidified that idea. So feel free to tag along, or don't, I will keep photographing and uploading simply because this is something I like.

Anyway, here's @zanderschloss of @circlejerksband.

And @yepicurus offers 20 minutes free 1:1 existential consulting and it was invaluable to me. If that wasn't obvious, I highly recommend it!
